Front board and fly leaf are detached but intact. Attractive Greek meander design on spine in gilt. Some light staining. Front board may not be original to book, does not match rear board. Previous owner’s name on front fly leaf. Text block appropriately toned with minimal foxing. Unmarked. Binding remains intact. Please see photos. The New Bath Guide reprints the rules for both the Upper and the Lower Rooms. The two sets of rules are similar, and cover matters such as clothing, the allocation of seats and the times at which balls had to start and finish. The New Bath Guide also contains a humorous set of rules which pokes fun at the culture of the Assembly Rooms. The shipping was fast and the book was extremely well packaged. The book itself is exactly as pictured and although rare books are expected to be expensive, I was able to get a small discount that at least covered the shipping. I'm happy with my purchase, so I can say that it was a good value. I love to find old relics that kind of come full circle to find their home.
