Collated, complete. Barber provides a general survey of the scenery, history, social customs, and archaeological remains of the regions discussed, with various aspects of Monmouthshire and South Wales discussed in twenty-three chapters. With the bookplate of Egerton Parker to the recto of a front blank. A beautifully illustrated first edition work, providing wonderful insight into life in Wales in the early nineteenth century. CONDITION In a full calf binding, with gilt detailing to back strip and board perimeters. Light fading to back strip. Front joint starting, and a touch tender. Rubbing to rear joint. Bookplate to recto of a front blank. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright, with offsetting to pages facing plates.
