Description

1804 1 st print Thornhill Shooting Directory HUNTING Color Illustrated Sport Guns Richard Thornhill’s ‘Shooting Directory’ is one of, if not the best early 19 th -century shooting and hunting manual. This incredible folio hunting guide is a collection of discussions on hunting dogs, firearms and gunpowder, shooting styles, and of course descriptions of game animals. While hunting books have always been popular amongst sportsmen, this particular book is known to have more draw than most because of its exquisite full-page, color engravings ! This incredibly rare and valuable true first printing includes pages 214-220 which were suppressed from later editions. These pages highly criticized the hunting ability and shooting techniques of King George III. It is certainly because of these claims that, following the publication of this book, Thornhill moved from England to live full-time in Paris. The Bible arrived and was packed very well, it arrived expeditiously and in excellent condition. The Bible is exactly as it was described in the eBay listing and advertisement. I believe the Bible was very fairly priced making an exceptional value. The Bible is absolutely beautiful and is now in a home which will take very good care of it . In short, I am very pleased with my purchase. I want to take this opportunity to wish you a very happy holiday season and God bless you. Howard

I bought an item from this seller as a very special Christmas gift to my husband this year. This seller is responsive to any questions you have and takes great pride and care in packaging the item. The shipping was way faster than I expected it to be, and the item was exactly as described. The item is beautiful, and I feel that it was most definitely valued appropriately. I highly recommend this seller, and my experience was exceptionally positive.

Packaging was great and it's condition was phenomenal better than described and shown in the photos!!!! A fantastic value for it's condition compared to others on eBay. Shipping was fast but UPS did make it a complete hassle. Not the sellers fault by any means as he was quite willing to help when I messaged him! Overall a great experience except for UPS lol. I'm very excited to have this as part of my art deco bar collection!
