Marshall's work guides the reader through the purchase, improvement and management of landed estates, offering a wealth of practical information. Discussing valuations, reclaiming watery lands, consolidating detached properties, appropriating common lands, improving mines and quarries, and on the process of renting out lands and buildings. Rebacked, with endpapers renewed. Lacking half title. With an advertisement leaf to the rear. This work includes an interesting section devoted to salmon fisheries. CONDITION Rebacked, retaining the original calf boards. Gilt detailing to back strip. Externally, lovely. Endpapers renewed. Lacking half title. Internally, firmly bound. This now sits alongside a companion volume, another work of Worcestershire historian and antiquarian, John Noak. I very much looking forward to reading it.
