As a precursor to the modern-day method of 'peer tutoring', within this method students were rewarded for successfully passing on information to the next pupil. Printed and Sold by J. Lancaster Free School Borough Road; Darton and Harvey Gracechurch Street and Hatchard Piccadilly This work succinctly details Lancaster's methods and was written by Lancaster shortly before he travelled to the United States to lecture and promote his ideas. The height of popularity of his system came in the first decades of the nineteenth century, and in 1808 "The Society for Promoting the Lancasterian System for the Education of the Poor" was created. The shipping was lightning fast, arriving in 3 days from UK to US. The book was packaged with extreme care, very important for an antique book. The overall condition of the book is also unbelievable for its age, even better than described. I’ve purchased numerous other books from this seller, and the quality and price have always been outstanding. Great eBay seller. Thanks!
