Hardcover bound in mid-20th century full red leather with gilt titles on the spine. Light wear to the binding. The binding is fresh and clean and has the appearance of a library type binding but it is not an ex-library copy. Endpapers contemporary with the binding, yet there are also some blank endpapers original to the book. One of these has some erased pencil notations. The text block is sound, and the text is exceptionally clean. We see one leaf (pages 71-72) which have some paper repairs. The paper in one gathering in the center is a bit toned. Wide margins. Text is in French. Originally published in 1787, both that and this edition are quite rare. Not illustrated; no maps called for. A very rare pilot guide for Saint Dominique (later Haiti). The descriptions were the basis of maps. ***************************************** We Always Accept Returns if the Item Does Not Match the Description. I am not one for normally leaving feedback, however, this experience was exceptional. The book arrived incredibly well packaged. Like it was professionally wrapped and packed. Shipped promptly and received. The seller also was great on a follow up question regarding history of the book.

Excellent old history in perfect condition, like new. Book clean and crisp with absolutely no damage as described. Publication date 1930. Very quickly shipped. Very securely wrapped against weather and handling damage. A bit dear but you certainly get what you pay for.
