By Alexander Crombie and printed in London for Simpkin, Marshall, and Co. 1838, 2 volumes, 406 pp plus preface and 514 pp, 8.75” x 5.5”, 8vo, hardcover full leather. In good condition. Light rubbing and wear to leather on boards and spines, with some instances of peeling to the rear board of Volume II. Title and volume labels remain intact. Hinges remain in good condition with light cracking to the front of each volume. Text blocks remain bound well. Light markings and marginalia, along with ex-library bookplates and stampings from the Phillips Exeter Academy Library in Exeter, New Hampshire. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing.     The shipping was fast and the book was extremely well packaged. The book itself is exactly as pictured and although rare books are expected to be expensive, I was able to get a small discount that at least covered the shipping. I'm happy with my purchase, so I can say that it was a good value. I love to find old relics that kind of come full circle to find their home. Welcome home to this little gem in the form of a small book. I will take very good care of you! I highly recommend this seller.

    Just picked up my package from Robin Rare Books and let me start by saying WOW!!! Book as advertised for sure. the value of the book certainly dictated some care in shipping but never did I think to this extent. The packaging was incredible. bigger box than needed at first thought but after opening based on the care and multiple layers of packing It would have survived a Tank rolling over it. Very grateful for you listing and working with me on the book, true piece of history I will cherish
