Including many folding maps, colour plates, illustrations and plans. Includes the following works. Official Guide, New Edition, Summer Tours in Scotland. Glasgow to the Highlands. ‘Royal Route’ With Time Tables and List of Fares (1883) by David Macbrayne. Illustrated with one folding map and sixteen colour plates. Guide to the Crystal Palace Park and Gardens by Samuel Phillips (1856) is illustrated with three folding maps and illustrations throughout the text. Bournemouth Industrial and Loan Exhibition by William Fisher (1890). Picturesque Wales: A Handbook of Scenery Accessible from the Cambrian Railways by Godfrey Turner (1884) has two colour folding maps. Pelton’s Illustrated Guide to Tunbridge Wells and the Neighbouring Seats, Towns, and Villages by J. Radford Thomson (1888) has illustrations throughout the text. The above works are all bound together in one book. In the other book, the works include: Norman May’s Guide to Cheltenham and County of Gloucester (1884). Undated, dated through Jisc. With three plates and one folding map. Ward & Lock’s Illustrated Guide to, and Popular History of Leamington & Warwick (c1881). Undated, dated through Jisc. With four plates, one folding map and one folding plan. Ward & Lock’s Tourist’s Picturesque Guide to Brighton (1878). Undated, dated through Jisc and the copy held at the British Library. With one folding map, one folding plan, one colour plate and in-text illustrations. The Original Bath Guide (1881) published by William Lewis, has two plates and is missing the map. Collated, complete, with the exception of the missing map in 'Bath Guide'. CONDITION In half calf bindings and cloth boards. Externally, fair. There is some loss to the tail of the spine of one volume. There is significant rubbing to the spines, extremities and leather overall. There is also some wear to the cloth. The joints are cracked. The hinges are held by cords only. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are generally bright and clean with some spotting throughout. Overall Condition: Good Only GLOSSARY OF TERMS Overall Condition (Dustwrapper condition rating is shown after that for the book itself, where a dustwrapper is present) Fine - Very well preserved copy showing very little wear Very Good Indeed - Only one or two minor faults, really a very attractive copy Very Good - Quite a wide term meaning no major faults but probably several smaller ones often expected given the age of the book, but still a respectable copy Good - Meaning not very good. Some more serious faults as will be described in the condition report under 'condition' Good Only - Meaning one or more faults that could really do with repair Fair - As with good only above but with other faults leaving a compromised copy even after repair Poor - Really bad and possibly seriously incomplete.
