This folding plate is in a very smart condition. Bradshaw's first printed railway timetable was issued in 1839 and although he died in 1853 there were numerous publications bearing his name issued posthumously. The title page states that this is volume XV of Bradshaw's Railway Manual and official Directory. It comprises the historical and financial position of every rail company in Britain, its colonies, and further afield. It also contains statistics and other data that is of railway interest in parliament. As is usual with Bradshaw's guides, this copy is rather worn and the title page is detached but present. The binding has also split at page IX and there has been an amateurish repair to the binding so as to retain the front board. Internally, the work is bright. CONDITION Retaining the original straight grained morocco board. Externally, worn. The original board is rubbed, and the rear board is lacking. Amateur repair to the spine, with tape adhering the front board to a sheet of card used as the rear board. Tape repairs to the hinges. Binding is split at the contents page. Otherwise, internally the binding is tender. Pages are bright. Occasional light spots and minor chipping to the edges of advertisements. Very speedy delivery and extremely well packaged. The book is in wonderful condition for age, better I think than described. This now sits alongside a companion volume, another work of Worcestershire historian and antiquarian, John Noak. I very much looking forward to reading it. As for price, I snatched the offer and am extremely pleased that I did. This seller is a perfect find on eBay and I would purchase from them without hesitation, saved seller, excellent.

Excellent in every respect; much better than originally described and pictured. The shipping was exceptionally fast, and the books arrived precisely on schedule. The packaging was both robust and thoughtful, which always makes a most distinct difference. I am grateful for this great value and for your having accepted my offer. Thank you so much, Katherine, for a truly pluperfect transaction.
