The First Edition was published in 1856 (copyright date also), and the First US Edition was published by Appleton also in 1857. 1/2 LEATHER in VERY GOOD CONDITION. 7.5" by 5". Textured brown cloth boards, light to moderate edge and corner wear, mostly on spine top and bottom and where boards meet spine. Lightly bumped corners. There is a bit of damage to top of spine (see listing photo). Advertising on light pink endpapers - erasures seen on front endpaper. A few pencil markings and a previous owner inked name, and then the same owner lightly penciled name on top of title page. No further marks in 252 clean and solidly bound pages, followed by 12 pages (unpaginated) of ads. This language study was written by Madame de Peyrac. The work includes French words, phrases and sentences with the English translations next to them, as an instructional guide to learning French in the way it is spoken in Paris. B125
