Bookplate to the first blank. Samuel Smiles (1812-1904) was a British author and government reformer, best known for his book 'Self help'. This book followed the success of this first work, and aimed to educate the reader on topics such as morality and self-discipline. CONDITION In a full calf binding. Externally smart, with a small faint mark to the spine and a little rubbing to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean except for the odd spot to the first and last few pages.
