A smart edition of this impressive work. CONDITION In a half straight grain morocco signed binding, with cloth covered boards. Back strip lightly age toned, with light rubbing to joints and back strip head and tail. Front hinge strained, but firmly held. Inscription to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages lightly age toned to perimeters, otherwise clean and bright. Small loss of paper to half title tail. I bought this for the copy's associations with a family I'm interested in, thanks to the suggestions about provenance in the seller's description. The description and photos told me all I needed to know about the book - clearly the right family, though I have my own view on the individual who owned it - but that is part of the fund of an old book. It arrived promptly - a couple of days' delay caused by UPS - safely packaged and a good price, I think.
