This listing is for a rare pocket guide book entitled "How to Name the Birds" by H.E. Parkhurst. It is a pocket guide to all the land birds and to the principal water fowl normally found in the New England States, New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, for the use of Field Ornithologists. It has a double page color illustration of birds and some black and white drawings detailing traits of specific birds and short descriptions of many birds. The cover is red leather with gold stamped titled printed on the cover. It was published in 1898 by Charles Scribner's of New York---this is the 1904 edition. Condition: The spine is missing and the covers are very worn. The contents are complete. This book was purchased from the estate of a former antique's dealer.
