The village and its Chapelle de Notre Dame (constructed in 1479) is today a UNESCO heritage site as part of the St. James' Way pilgrimage route. The site first gained popularity as a pilgrim destination during the Middle Ages, but by the early 19th century was in ruins, first with the arrival of the Huguenots in the 16th century and pillaged again during the French Revolution. Not until the mid-19th century were funds, raised by the bishops of Cahors, used to restore the site. This guidebook would have been produced shortly after the restoration, and provides handsomely illustrated descriptions of the village, the numerous Chapelles, and surviving relics. Preface dated 1862; attributed to the abbé Cheval by the BNF. "You can always spot bright people. They are reading a book". Thus, those words by the great Gary Soto ring true, though they also apply to those that sell books at an amazingly fair price, and in a pristine state, like this seller! This item was signed by the very brightest bulb that penned those words, and after a swift and safe delivery in its beautifully packaged vessel, I can say that I could not be happier with this buying experience! For the merchant, a 12/10, and their gem an A++!!

The magazine was shipped quickly and packaged with extreme care to avoid any damage. The photos for this magazine showed it to be in good condition. However, it was not only in good condition but actually BETTER than described or shown. For the age of this item (1913) and its fine condition, this item was a terrific buy and well worth the cost. To me, it is priceless. I would certainly purchase from this seller again. A definite 5++++ in every category.

What an great seller! Due to the size of my order, they broke it up into three packages, taking the time to wrap and protect each set of books in multiple ways. They arrived in pristine condition, exactly as pictured and described. Excellent value and quick shipping as well. Will definitely buy from them again. Fantastic experience!
