Up for auction here is a complete 14 volume plus guidebook set of Elbert Hubbard's 1928 memorial edition of "Little Journeys to the Homes of the Great". This was published by The Roycrofters, an Arts and Crafts community in East Aurora, New York, that Elbert founded in 1895. This was published as a memorial edition after Elbert and his wife Alice died together aboard the Lusitania after the ship was torpedoed by a German U-boat in 1915. There is a glued-in page at the front of Vol. 1 that states that this set was made specially for the library of Louise O. LaQua and is dated 1929. This set also came housed in a beautiful oak bookcase made by The Roycrofters that I have for sale in a separate auction on e-Bay. I have a picture of the set of books displayed in the bookcase for reference, but the bookcase is not included, only the books. I have decided to include a 1927 edition of "The Notebook of Elbert Hubbard" and Volume 1 of a 14 volume memorial 1928 edition of "The Selected Writings of Elbert Hubbard" which are shown in three of the pics. The books are all in very good condition with no torn or missing pages. There is no writing or marking or water damage, however the books do show some yellowing and minor bumps to the spine and corners. The books will be carefully packaged in a double box and shipped free of charge with insurance anywhere in the USA via USPS Media Mail.
