Nelson RSV Revised Standard Version Bible Genuine Leather 3807 Text Edition This is a gently read (if at all) RSV text edition in genuine leather with gilt page edges in excellent condition. This is the classic text edition with opaque paper, clear typeface, and a very pleasant reading experience. The leather is flexible and in poor condition. There are rather consistent abrasions to the edges and the corners. A piece of the edge is even “broken” off. It’s bizarre, because the gilding, aside from some obvious fingernail scratches at the top, is in unused condition. The dyed art-gilt is flawless. It doesn’t have any signs of usage, though it was clearly stored in an improper place since the leather has deteriorated. This is a classic RSV text, but rarely found without any writing at all. Since there is no writing anywhere in the text that I could find, this would make a great Bible for use or rebind. It has two slightly exposed signatures, but that’s easily fixed with some flexible glue or will be fixed with any decent rebinder. It was gently and carefully used, from what I can tell. I always list any writing, stains, tears, or imperfection of any kind. And I always list the condition conservatively, so you should expect the item to be in better condition than listed. Unlike the vast majority of sellers out there, I refuse to hide imperfections through cleverly taken pictures or obscure descriptions. I try to include as many pictures as necessary to highlight the imperfections rather than the beauty of the items, which is part of why I have an elevated Seller Status and perfect feedback in which many consistently report back “just as described” or “better than described.” If I miss something by accident, please contact me so I can make it right.
