However, the giant creature soon makes landfall, wreaking massive destruction as it ploughs through the city, and then returns to sea, all while the unprepared government scrambles for a belated response. Yaguchi is placed in charge of a task force to research the mysterious monster dubbed Godzilla, and evidence indicates that it will keep growing more powerful and destructive.
