Published 1793 by Brynberg and Andrews, Wilmington, Delaware, this first edition (see title page) features a full leather binding with raised bands and gilt stamped lettered label on the spine, and contains Spurrier's guide to agriculture, farming, and animal husbandry including information such as The Properties of Different Soils; The Properties of Manures, and Their Effects; A plan of a brew-house, laid down with directions for placing the utensils; withthe best method of brewing beer and ale; and to make cider keep, and be much stronger than common; The description of a drill machine, and runnign hoe: with the method of making and plaishing of hedges; The management and method of fattening cows, oxen, sheep, hogs, calves, lambs and horses; with directions and remedies, and receipts of proper medicines to cure the several diseases they are subject to; and much more. Also, the book begins with a list of subscribers who were contemporaries of the 18th century. This book measures apx. 5 1/4 x 8 1/8 in. (WxL) and contains 360pp with an index. Best packaging I’ve received from an EBay seller. The Bible itself exceeded my expectations, it looks almost new! They added a handmade bookmark as a cute gift and they packaged it all in a sturdy box, filled it with good quality foam (made no mess, felt almost like cotton) and wrapped the Bible in a plastic bag.
